Prince George's County Public Schools and Laurel High School have partnered with Naviance to provide a variety of tools to support you in your academic, career and college planning. These tools are located in Family Connection, a website for students to access these online resources, communicate with school staff and work on college and career readiness activities assigned by your counselors and teachers. You can set personalized goals, take career interest inventories and assessments, search for colleges and scholarships, and much more. You will access your Family Connection account with your Clever credentials, same as you access many of the other learning applications you use in school. When you log in for the first time, explore as much as you would like, but take particular note of the My Planner > Tasks Assigned to Me section. This will show you a list of all the activities you are expected to complete by the end of the school year. Each grade level is required to complete their respective task before the end of each school year.

Personal safety lessons
School counselors met with all 9th and 11th grade students via English classes to have discussions about personal safety, including consent, harassment, relationship violence, and sexual assault in December 2019. For more information about the lesson, please click here for a preview of the discussions. Letters were sent home prior to Thanksgiving for students to share with their parents.
